About

The Department of Environment and Science is committed to engaging with Queensland communities and individuals on a range of projects, initiatives and activities. To deliver the best outcomes for Queensland, it is important we hear your views. This dedicated engagement hub, In the Loop, gives you the opportunity to have your say. Through surveys, online discussion forums and other feedback tools, you can quickly and easily contribute your ideas and opinions on key environment, science and youth matters.

This important online hub also allows you to follow the progress of a range of departmental priorities and decisions. The input of the community gives the Queensland Government access to a broad range of information about community views prior to decision-making.

We also recognise the knowledge, connection, and passion our communities have and how this can assist us. While community engagement doesn’t replace the decision-making functions of government, the feedback we receive helps create opportunities and partnerships, and leads to more informed outcomes.

Our focus is on helping Queenslanders understand and help resolve some of the state’s most complex and pressing challenges related to our natural environment and youth affairs.

Providing opportunities for public participation is an integral part of environmental impact assessment and developing sound environmental protection policies in Queensland.
