The future of sport and recreation in Queensland

Project Overview

Are you aged 18 years or younger? Do you have a few minutes to tell us about how active you are and what you would like to see to encourage more kids to play sport and get moving.

Sport and recreation make a significant contribution to the health of Queenslanders, our communities and the economy.

All Queenslanders need opportunities to live an active life, regardless of age, ability or background.

The Department of Housing and Public Works is asking Queenslanders for their feedback on the barriers preventing participation in sport and recreation, and ways to address these challenges.

The consultation will also seek ideas on maximising the potential of our elite athletes as role models, particularly for young people, and ensuring the success of our major sporting events and venues.

Consultation feedback will shape the future of sport and recreation in Queensland through the Queensland Sport and Active Recreation Strategy 2019–2029, due for release in early 2019.

Have your say by completing the online survey.

The consultation closes on Friday 19 October 2018.
