Sexual Health Ministerial Advisory Committee Youth Advisory Group
FAQs
The Youth Advisory Group (YAG) will be time-limited to coincide with the life of the Sexual Health Ministerial Advisory Committee (Committee) (ie 2019-2021)
YAG age limits apply to time of commencement with group (until 30 August 2019, should be between ages 16-24 inclusive)
The YAG will be co-chaired by two of the young delegates from the Youth Forum, who will act as the liaison between the YAG and the Committee
The Committee meets quarterly (February, May, August , November) - so work by the YAG would be synchronised with the Committee schedule
It is anticipated that the time requirement will be minimal - most of the work could be conducted via email and teleconference, with the occasional requirement for face-to-face meetings
It is possible that the YAG may be approached, via the Committee and/or Sexual Health Strategy team, for advice relating to other health matters, participation in activities with other youth advisory groups, or in promotional activities. This will be at the discretion of the Office of the Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services.
YAG positions are offered on a voluntary basis
YAG positions will be selected by the Committee based on an assessment of the EOls against the requirement for balanced representation on the YAG.

The announcement of an expert Sexual Health Ministerial Advisory Committee (Committee) was made by the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services in December 2016, following the launch of the Queensland Sexual Health Strategy 2016–2021 (Strategy) earlier in the same month. Reflecting the innovative whole-of-government Strategy, eleven members representing diverse sector expertise and populations were appointed to the Committee to guide the implementation of the Strategy over its lifespan and provide advice to the Minister on matters that inform achieving optimal sexual and reproductive health for Queenslanders.
